TAMARACK ISLAND WILDERNESS LODGE is a beautiful 3 acre island deep in the heart of beautiful Lake of the Woods; located west of Morson, Ontario. 

At Tamarack, guests enjoy a unique outfitting experience in a relaxed, rustic atmosphere. Our island getaway offers the perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the beauty of Northwestern Ontario. Here, you'll find quiet shorelines, incredible scenery, and some of the best Lake of the Woods fishing available, all away from noisy jet skis, busy waterways, and large crowds.

 The main Lodge is where guests can enjoy our meals, tell stories of the days’ adventures, develop new friendships, watch a game, or connect with family back home with our Starlink satellite Wi-Fi. We provide a truly friendly atmosphere where guests feel welcome and become close friends.

We have excellent rental boats, a small store, gas, ice, bait, and guides to enhance the fishing and hunting experience. We also offer day trips into remote unpressured lakes by either hiking or chartering the services of a local float plane company. We offer all of this at a price that the working man can afford.

Our part of the Lake of the Woods is a little more remote than most other resorts so guests enjoy world-class Musky fishing as well as excellent fishing for other species such as Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, and Perch. 

Lake of the Woods is truly a multi-species fishery and offers outstanding opportunities throughout the year. In the winter, we welcome guests for ice fishing on Lake of the Woods during January, February, and March. Popular species include walleye, sauger, crappie, perch, northern pike, tullibee, and lake trout through day trips to Whitefish Bay.

In the fall, guests can also enjoy opportunities for grouse and waterfowl hunting. We look forward to once again offering whitetail deer hunts when the local population fully recovers from the severe winter of 2022.
